A WORD ON THIS LISTING:

This is explicitly the V1 version of the Tubthumper kit. We are selling it below our cost instead of throwing them away. There are very limited quantities, and they are being sold as-is. 

The reason for the V2 version we are currently shipping:

In SOME R1Ts across Gen1 and Gen2, there is a thick swatch of hard insulation where the box rests. With the tight tolerances, this pushed the subwoofer in to the bottom of the seat. In V2, we accounted for this by creating a ring so that the subwoofer could sit flush with the top of the box. V2 also creates more space for those without the insulation, and adds some cotton batting to account for the slightly reduced volume of the box.

We highly recommend that you check under your subwoofer to see whether or not you have the insulation there (it will look like a shmear of black paint) PRIOR to ordering. If you order this and it doesn't work for you, we WILL allow returns, but you WILL pay shipping both ways (~$50 in most cases).

Rivian Subwoofer Installation Kit

We like to call this "The Tubthumper."

As car guys who like nice sounding audio, even the Meridian systems in our launch edition R1Ts felt... lacking. As it turned out, the anemic OEM subwoofer comes installed in a plastic box, and sorely lacks wattage.

After some finagling, we've come up with this MDF Felted box that makes a WORLD of difference to your truck's audio.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your truck MUST have a subwoofer for this kit to work. This means "Meridian" or "Rivian Premium Audio". If you have just the stock audio system, it lacks the needed outputs and wiring for this kit to be installed.

With our kit, you end up turning DOWN the bass in the software-controlled EQ, which allows the speakers in your doors to focus just on the mids and highs, and lets the New & Improved subwoofer handle the rest.

This complete wiring and installation kit integrates seamlessly with your vehicle's OEM system—no cutting or splicing required.
